My babies and I share everything, pacifiers included. This little Steele gets bigger and smarter every single day and it’s triggering the usual pangs of pain in my heart.
I see so much inundating of women today to: be independent, “you do you,” avoid marriage, children being a woman’s downfall, choose abortion, etc. I feel sorry for all the young, impressionable girls growing up with these false messages.
In reality, there is NOTHING that makes you more powerful as a woman than choosing to be a mother, devoting your life to the life you created. And we need husbands as our partners who aid us in being the best mothers we can be. It doesn’t happen overnight. I feel stronger with each baby I have. I learn something new each day, with each child. And I’m excited for what I still have yet to experience with my children.
I think back to before I had them and realize how little I knew about life. If you want to be a strong, powerful, intelligent woman who has others looking up to her in society- be someone’s mother.
Life goes by so quickly. You can always “do you” but you only have a short blip in time to “do your children.”
